The effect that having a luxury hardwood floor has on the value of a home is incomparable. 99% of Realtors say homes with hardwood are easier to sell because it is the most highly desired feature of a home. Additionally, by having a Legno Bastone hardwood floor installed, it can increase the value of a home up to 2.5% or more.
But…Are all hardwood floors created equal?
Like all things, there is a tremendous difference between a poor quality product and an exceptional product. The market is flooded with mass-produced and poor quality products because they are cost effective. What does a poor quality product mean when it comes to hardwood flooring? Is there really that big of a difference?
I have been in the hardwood flooring industry for 25 years and during that time, I have worked with hundreds, if not, thousands of different brands. I have never come across anything that comes close to a Legno Bastone hardwood floor. From a quality and safety standpoint to the breathtaking visuals, Legno Bastone is hands down, the best hardwood flooring made today.
Lets start with the safety of a hardwood floor. Did you know that almost all of the hardwood flooring manufacturers that make an engineered wood floor use a hot press when assembling the plywood substrate? There are a couple problems with this. First, when you heat up the adhesive that adheres the plywood, the molecular structure is altered, thus releasing toxic gases or VOCs for years after the product is assembled. Second, after heating up the adhesive, it dries quickly, thus creating air bubbles within the plywood assembly. This is where moisture, humidity and water get trapped and can ultimately cause problems with the structural stability of the product. I’m sure you have heard of a hardwood flooring getting water on it and it warping. This is why.
Legno Bastone is Cradle to Cradle Certified. This isn’t just any certification. This is a world-wide certification that holds companies to the most strict of standards. Not only is the product evaluated but the manner in which it is created is strictly evaluated. Cradle to Cradle certifications are here to ensure that product manufactures are making a positive impact on the environment in addition to the safety of its products.
Next, lets take a look at the quality of an engineered hardwood floor. Most manufactures use the most cost effective products and processes to make the largest profit they can. Legno Bastone follows old-world European traditions in the creation of all of its floors. What does this mean to you?
This means that every floor is handcrafted by the best artisans in Europe. Every floor contains: a true marine-grade core and an all-natural UV-cured hard-wax protective finish. Legno Bastone floors will last generations.
